ABOUT LAST NIGHT: Fort Wayne fell to the Dayton Dragons, 5-1, Monday night in the opening contest of a three-game series at Fifth Third Field. Left fielder Nick Torres plated the TinCaps’ only run of the night in the sixth.

PRIOR WARNING: Padres Minor League Pitching Coordinator Mark Prior is currently with the TinCaps. Prior joined San Diego’s front office in December 2013 as a baseball operations assistant and is in his first season in his present role. The San Diego native pitched for the Cubs from 2002-06, posting a 42-29 record with a 3.51 ERA.

NO RUNNING: Jose Ruiz has thrown out a league-leading 16 runners attempting to steal. He caught two runners trying to steal on Monday and picked another off at first base.

STREAKING: The following are on season-long hitting streaks: Felipe Blanco (7), Duanel Jones (5), Edwin Moreno (4), Trae Santos (2). Nick Torres, who had a 9-game hitting streak to begin the season, is currently on a 5-game hitting streak as well.

Despite playing three less games than everyone besides Great Lakes, the TinCaps are tied for the Midwest League lead in doubles with 47, including four on Monday.
