Inaugural Fall Home Design Expo set for Oct. 18-20

Homeowners looking to remodel will find more than 100 home
improvement exhibitors at the one-stop-shop, which is a perfect time to browse products, compare prices and plan for projects, especially when prepping for company during the holidays.

A wide array of booths will feature remodeling essentials related to kitchens, baths, carpet, doors, windows, insulation, room additions, home building, mortgages, roofing, decks, cooking, cabinets, refinishing, basements and much more.

Highlights include the Indiana Wine Experience, presented by O¹Daniel Porsche Audi, will feature wine tasting with Hoosier-based wineries, sweet treats courtesy of Fort Wayne Chocolate Fountain, cheese provided by the American Dairy Association of Indiana, giveaways, art and music by the J Taylors from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. Daniel¹s Vineyard will even host a grape stomp in vats holding 2,000 pounds of Noiret grapes. Santa Claus will emcee a silent auction to raise money for the Fort Wayne Children¹s Foundation, an organization whose mission is to help prevent child abuse within the community.

Culinary guru Chef Michael Barna will host festive cooking demos during the Taste of Home Cooking School Saturday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. Barna will guide cooks of all skillsets from the page to the stage with 10 stage recipes so they are ready to entertain for the coming holidays. All participants receive a gift bag and can enter to win a 2- night stay, and 2-round golf getaway to French Lick Resort (valued at $1,600), and many other door prizes.

For the first time, the Fort Wayne Winter Farmer¹s Market relocates to the Coliseum Sunday, Oct. 20 and will feature face painting, fresh local produce, baked goods, pet treats, crafts, jewelry and more.

Throughout the weekend, Lowe¹s Home Improvement and Cindy Friend, local interior designer and owner of Cindy Friend Boutique, will host free daily home improvement workshops based around ³Kitchen & Bath Trends: Why Details Matter,² ³Winterization: How to Save Money & Be More Energy Efficient During Colder Months,² ³How to Use Paint to Add Color and Style,² and ³How to Install Do-It-Yourself Laminate Flooring.² For the complete schedule, log on
