Members of the Fort Wayne Community Schools Class of 2020 will be celebrated as they receive their diplomas June 4, 5 and 6. Each high school will cheer on their graduates as they pick up their diplomas in a parade-style celebration on the day the students were scheduled to graduate.
Students are encouraged to wear their caps and gowns and decorate their vehicles for the event. Families can be in the vehicle with students, but there is a limit of one vehicle per graduate. All participants must remain in the vehicle at all times and follow the parade route established by the school.
Thursday, June 4
• Wayne High School, 6-8 p.m.: Vehicles enter from Winchester Road and follow the bus lane. Last names A-G – 6-6:40 p.m.; Last names H-O – 6:40-7:20 p.m.; Last names P-Z – 7:20-8 p.m.
Friday, June 5
• North Side High School, 4-7 p.m.: Vehicles enter from Northside Drive and follow the circle drive. Last names A-G – 4-5 p.m.; Last names H-O – 5-6 p.m.; Last names P-Z – 6-7 p.m.
• Northrop High School, 5-8 p.m.; Vehicles enter from Cook Road. Last names A-H – 5-6 p.m.; Last names I-R – 6-7 p.m.; Last names S-Z – 7-8 p.m.
Saturday, June 6

FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
