Global Medical Industries of Fort Wayne was one of 10 Hoosier companies to receive 2018 Small Business Impact Awards on Wednesday, May 2, from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC). The awards were presented by IEDC President Elaine Bedel at a luncheon ceremony at the Dallara Indycar Factory in Speedway.
The Impact Awards honor small businesses receiving business counseling from one of the 10 regional offices of the Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Global Medical Industries was launched in 2016 by Victor Lopez, a client of the Northeast Indiana SBDC. The firm specializes in manufacturing medical device components such as precision instruments and parts for upper and lower extremities, including spine and joint procedures.
Lopez also was recognized recently by the Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana, receiving the organization’s Entrepreneur of Integrity award at the annual Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics ceremony on April 26. Global Medical, located at the Fort Wayne Enterprise Center, is the only certified minority-owned medical device supplier and manufacturer in Indiana.
