Science Central is excited that the Lion’s Club will return to sponsor a vision health day on Saturday, Jan. 27!

Lion’s Club members will be on-site giving free vision screenings to children, and giving educational presentations about vision and service animals. The day will also include fun and informative activities and demonstrations related to vision health.

Cheri Backer, a volunteer puppy raiser for Leader Dog for the Blind, will give a presentation at 11:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Financial Foundation Demonstration Theater about her experiences as a trainer of Leader Dogs for the last 24 years.

Doreen Hanan, a member of the New Haven Lion’s Club and owner of a Leader Dog, will present the do’s and don’ts with service animals at 1:30 p.m. in the Demonstration Theater.
