The City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division and the Waynedale Business Chamber are inviting residents to provide input on a plan to improve the corridors around the intersection of Bluffton and Lower Huntington roads.
An open house is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27 between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St.
The proposed plan addresses four key goals:
1) Improving connectivity and safety for all modes of transportation,
2) Developing streetscape enhancements,
3) Encouraging zoning that is compatible with the neighborhoods, and
4) Enhancing the Waynedale brand to highlight the area and business community’s identity, history and pride.
The plan was developed through a process that included community surveys, stakeholder meetings, field assessments and review of best practices. Representatives from the Chamber and the City’s Community Development Division will be available to discuss the proposed plan, answer questions, and collect residents’ comments and suggestions. The public is welcome to stop in any time during the available hours. A raffle will be held for prizes provided by Chamber members and light refreshments will be available, courtesy of Kingston Residence.
