28th Annual AIDS Benefit

Twenty-eight years ago, After Dark held its first AIDS Benefit to raise money and awareness on the AIDS crisis affecting the gay community. Proceeds from the first event supported The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) to help find a cure for AIDS. Over the years, the AIDS Benefit became more of a community wide event and helped raise money for local AIDS organizations including the Community AIDS Action Team through Up the Stairs Community Center and the AIDS Task Force. Since the first benefit, After Dark has raised over $950,000 for HIV and AIDS in our community. In keeping with its tradition, proceeds from the After Dark/Babylon AIDS Benefit will support programs and services of the Northeast Indiana Positive Resource Connection.

The 28th Annual AIDS Benefit will be held on Friday, June 23rd at After Dark/ Babylon located at 112 East Masterson Avenue with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. A live auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. The evening will also include appetizers by Calhoun Street Soups, Salads, and Spirits and after the live auction After Dark/Babylon’s talented and magnificent entertainers will perform following the live auction and go until closing. The Triple Threat of Tula, Della, and Cassidy will be hosting this year’s event.

Tickets for the 28th Annual AIDS Benefit are $5 and are available at After Dark/Babylon. For more information on the benefit, please contact Charles Miller at 260-456-6235 or leave a message at 260-420-5265
