Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades will ordain two men to the sacred priesthood during an 11 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The two men to be ordained priests are Deacon Eric Burgener from St. Charles Borromeo, Fort Wayne and Deacon Dennis Di Benedetto from St. Vincent de Paul, Fort Wayne.
Bishop Rhoades expressed his joy regarding the upcoming ordination, “Every time I celebrate an ordination, I am struck by the remarkable mystery of this sacrament in which the men being ordained receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit, empowering them to fulfill the ministry entrusted to them. By the power of the Holy Spirit, they are able to act in Christ’s name and to be instruments of His grace.”
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and will be open to the public. A capacity crowd is expected for the Mass. For those who are unable to attend the ordination Mass, coverage of the event will be broadcast live on Redeemer Radio at 10:55 a.m. on 95.7 FM in the greater Michiana area and 106.3 FM in the greater Fort Wayne area. There will also be live streaming coverage available through the diocesan Facebook, Twitter and Youtube channels.
