BuskerFest returns on Saturday, June 24, from 4:00pm – 10:00pm – Downtown’s celebration of the street performer, the 8th Annual BuskerFest will feature fantastic local, regional and national acts, free admission and an experience like no other!
Buskers are the highlight of BuskerFest. Performers from T.A.G. Art, Joy Unspeakable and others are scheduled throughout the event with random and unplanned performances giving the audience a glimpse into the talent, originality, novelty and creativity from around the region. Look for living statues, chalk artists, aerialists, fire dancers, caricature artists, magicians, jugglers, mimes, painters, musicians, balloon artists and more. The Downtown Improvement District encourages patrons to tip buskers for their efforts. Be sure to visit the Vendor Market on the I&M Power Center Plaza for unique gifts and services from great local vendors including New Tech Academy’s Student Created businesses.
New This Year:
We are pleased to announce two new national performers have been booked for 2017 complementing our amazing local and regional talent.
“Adorkable Derek” is a loveable character who brings a fantastically funny combination of Chinese pole acrobatics, audience participation, nerdy dancing, clowning, and, of course, a love story, all while not saying a word!
“Cate Great” blends high-end circus with unique comedy. You will be charmed by her whit and astounded by her skill. Whether she is precariously balanced on her rolla bolla or defying gravity balanced on her hands you will be thrilled and amazed.
Anyone interested in being a street performer at BuskerFest can complete a simple Busker Web-Form posted on the Downtown Improvement District website. For festival details go to: www.DowntownFortWayne.com/BuskerFest
