Fort Wayne Food Tours Launching

The city’s first foodie tour, which will also combine historic and architectural commentary, starts up on Friday, March 24. The tours will run on Fridays and Saturdays through mid-October at 3:00pm on both days and are limited to a maximum of 12 persons. Age requirement is 21 or older.

The EAT – WALK – ENJOY TOUR will be a combination of Tapas sized+ tastings at five locally owned downtown establishments and range from American comfort food to contemporary culinary creations. Guests should expect to have had a full meal by the end of tour. In addition, the tours, which last three hours, will include six commentary stops that will highlight the history and architecture of Fort Wayne during the slow and easy 1.25-mile central core loop.

An ideal event for families and friends, wedding parties, birthday’s and just about any other group occasion, available dates can be blocked out for private parties of eight or more.

The tours are designed to benefit the local restaurants, as guests who have not previously dined at them will have the opportunity to taste the offerings, spread the word about their experience and later return for complete meals. These tours will also give Visit Fort Wayne one more unique activity to offer to out of town visitors and conventioneers.

Co-founder Randy Harter will be the primary guide and is a local historian and author of two books on the city’s history as well as frequent guest lecturer on Fort Wayne history to area non-profits, service organizations and businesses. Randy and his wife Pat had been on three “foodie” tours while on vacations over the years, sparking the idea that Fort Wayne was ready for one too. Co-founder Sarah Arnold, is the owner of digital marketing firm Socially Seasoned and will manage the company’s social media and marketing.
