CapeAble Entered In National SCORE Small Business Championship

CapeAble Sensory Products, a Northeast Indiana based women-owned business, is entered in the National SCORE Small Business Championship for a chance to win $25,000 and put our region on the map. Winners are based on public voting and judging by small business experts.

Three Grand Prize Winners will win $25,000 each courtesy of Sam’s Club. In addition, two businesses from each state will win $1,000 Sam’s Club gift cards. Winners will also attend a regional Championship Celebration, supported with a SCORE mentor and business advice to help businesses grow.

“We started this business because we saw a growing need for attractive, wearable weighted products,” says Marna Pacheco. “Both Susan and I have children with special needs and we have seen the benefits of weighted products firsthand. Unfortunately, most products on the market have an institutional look and are not very kid-friendly.”

“Our products break down barriers, eliminate stigmas, and give children and adults alike, an attractive and effective product to help provide relief, comfort, and hope. All of us need something that can help relieve that stress and discomfort,” Susan Hickok explains. “Winning this award will help us expand our product line, increase our marketing, and help more people.”

The community is invited to vote up to 10 times every hour until February 20, 2017. Voting is open now and can be cast online at https://championship.score.org/contest_entries/254419.
