USF Reaching Out To Saint Joseph’s College Students

The University of Saint Francis is one of several area colleges and universities reaching out to help those affected by the recently announced suspension of operations at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana.

In an attempt to assist as many students as possible and in many cases, match their previous SJC tuition costs, USF is offering assistance through two special transfer awards designed specifically for Saint Joseph’s College students. These funds will be granted over and above our university’s existing transfer awards:

SJC Transition Award–Up to $9,500 per year

SJC Housing Award–$1,000 per year

Award details and how the SJC Core credits transfer to USF is available at admissions.sf.edu. Need-based financial aid and talent based scholarships for athletics, marching band, or other campus activities may also apply. In addition, SJC students will benefit from USF’s free application process and ample on-campus housing options. Students and families are encouraged to contact a USF transfer counselor for personal assistance. Freshman students who are already admitted to SJC for the fall 2017 semester are also encouraged to apply online as USF offers freshman funding and scholarship aid.

“Our prayers go to all of the students, faculty, staff and families affected by this unfortunate situation,” said USF President Sister M. Elise Kriss OSF. “As a fellow Catholic institution of higher learning, we want to do everything we can to guide these young people through this tumultuous time and help them remain on track to graduation.”
