‘Kinky Boots’ Star Billy Porter Headlines Embassy Theatre’s Fundraising Gala

The Embassy Theatre announced today plans for its new Marquee Gala presented by Weigand Construction. The fundraising event is Wednesday, March 29, and features dinner and an intimate concert with Broadway star Billy Porter.

Guests will be seated on the Embassy stage as Porter performs. The acclaimed Tony and Grammy award-winning vocalist will lead an intimate musical road trip down the Great White Way. Porter’s roles have included starring in “Kinky Boots,” “Miss Saigon” and “Dreamgirls.”

The Embassy Theatre invites its supporters to relax under the ornate proscenium arch. This is the only special event permitted on the Embassy stage and offers a rare opportunity to experience the Embassy from the performer’s perspective. The event is capped at 250 to retain the intimacy of the performance.

Before the concert, guests will dine on a four-course meal served in the Ballroom at the Embassy. Each course will celebrate a stop on downtown Fort Wayne’s culinary scene. Top chefs from the city’s best restaurants are curating the menu. After the meal, guests will take a behind-the-scenes path to the stage seating. The route is typically a restricted entrance and a privilege reserved for Embassy headliners.

Tickets for the Marquee Gala, a fundraising event for the Embassy Theatre, are $250 and go on sale Friday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. Seating is limited to 250 and all seats are on stage.
