USF Presents 2017 Health Fair

The University of Saint Francis is inviting the community to its 2017 USF Health Fair on Monday, February 13 from 1 to 3:50 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Doermer Family Center for Health Sciences.

USF students enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program will present a variety of topics related to health and wellness.

This year’s booths include:

– Don’t Sugarcoat It – Diabetes Prevention and Management

– Packing for Health – Nutrition on the Go

– Stress Management

– DIY Remedies – Homeopathic Solutions

– ZZZs, please – How Exercise Affects Sleep

– Rise and Grind- The “Bean-e-fits” of Coffee

There will also be a representative from the “Be The Match” bone marrow donor program so visitors can learn how being a bone marrow donor can save lives.

Seventeeen PTA students are researching their self-selected topics and preparing educational materials for the community as course requirements for one of their last courses in the PTA curriculum before they graduate in May.

The Physical Therapist Assistant program, directed by Mary Kay Solon PT, MS, is an accredited two-year curriculum, which, upon successful completion, awards an Associate of Science degree.
