FWCS Board Holds Public Hearing On Superintendent Contract

The Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees publicly presented Wednesday, Dec. 14, a new contract with Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson.

The new contract extends Dr. Robinson’s employment from July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2019. Dr. Robinson became superintendent of Fort Wayne Community Schools in 2003, and her most recent contract expired in December 2015.

The contract maintains the annual base salary for the Superintendent at $210,164, which has been the base salary since 2014. The Board and Dr. Robinson recognized the difficult financial environment facing public schools as they finalized the new contract.

“While smaller districts pay their superintendents significantly higher salaries, FWCS is sending a message of fiscal restraint,” FWCS Board President Mark GiaQuinta said. “Dr. Robinson is one of the best superintendent’s in the country, and we feel fortunate to extend our relationship with her for another three years.”

The Board will vote on the contract at a special Board meeting at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 21, in the Board room at the Grile Administrative Center, 1200 S. Clinton St.
