Community Foundation Of Greater Fort Wayne Makes $500,000 Grant To Support Riverfront Fort Wayne

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne is making a $500,000 grant to the Fort Wayne Parks Department to be used as a $1-for-$2 match to benefit ongoing fundraising efforts for Riverfront Fort Wayne. The matching grant will go directly to the Fort Wayne Parks Foundation to support a resolution approved today by the Parks Foundation board, which pledges to raise $1,500,000 for the construction of Riverfront Development Phase 1.

“The Community Foundation is pleased to continue our support for riverfront development,” said David Bennett, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne. “This is an exciting project, and we want to do what we can to help make it a success.”

The Community Foundation has played an instrumental role in raising private funds for riverfront development efforts and has raised over $4 million for riverfront development efforts to-date.“We are extremely grateful to the many local individual and business donors who helped us surpass our fundraising goal,” said Bennett.

“Parkview chose to be among the contributors to Riverfront Fort Wayne because we believe this is an important project,” said Ben Miles, President of Parkview Regional Medical Center. “By capitalizing on our local assets, inspiration, and potential, our community can create a quality public space that will positively impact people’s overall health, happiness, and well-being in our community.”
