Is your daughter interested in Girl Scouts but unsure what troops exist nearby that might have openings for new members? Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana is pleased to help by offering an online resource called the Opportunity Catalog that lets girls and their parents search for troop information.
Girls and parents can search for troops by inputting their ZIP codes to find troops in their area, or by inputting a troop number to find a specific troop that they are already familiar with. Also, adults can easily view volunteer opportunities in their area and sign up to help.
“During our fall recruitment period, GSNI-M wants to make it as smooth and easy as possible for girls to register as Girl Scouts and find a troop near their home that meets at a convenient time,” said GSNI-M CEO Sharon Pohly. “Our goal is to make sure every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout has the opportunity to join.”
To start the process, parents can visit https://girlscouts.secure.force.com/girl , fill out some basic information and follow the prompts. Once a match is made with a convenient troop, the parent can register and pay the registration fee easily online. After a new girl or volunteer joins a troop, the leader will get an email notification with contact information so she can welcome them into the troop.
