Trail Blazer Race Helps To Support Trails In Allen County

Runners, walkers, and baby strollers, grown-ups, grandparents and kids, are all welcome at Fort Wayne Trails’ 5th annual Trail Blazer 5K/10K Run/Walk on October 16th. The event takes place at Summit Middle School, Homestead Road, and includes a 10k race, 5k walk/run and 1-mile kids’ fun run, along with live music and more. This event is designed to highlight our Paving the Way annual fundraising effort for trail development, and will be run on the Aboite Trails section of the Fort Wayne Regional Trails system. Proceeds from this event will benefit Fort Wayne Trails and our mission to act as a community partner and advocate in the development of a connected multipurpose trail system in Allen County.

The Kids’ Fun Run will begin at 1:30 PM and the 10K race will begin at 2:00 PM. The 5k walk/run will then line up, and begin at approximately 2:05 PM. On-site registration and packet pick-up will take place at Summit Middle School on Saturday, October 15th from 2 to 4 PM or on race day from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Timing chip bibs will be used to ensure accurate times are kept for all runners and prizes will be given to winners in various categories.

This is a great event with lots of activities including:

* Free access to the YMCA’s water facilities for all participants for one day
