Dr. Wilger Joins Visiting Nurse

Visiting Nurse is pleased to announce that Dr. Mary Wilger has joined the medical team of Visiting Nurse, 5910 Homestead Road in Fort Wayne. Dr. Wilger, a Milwaukee, Wisc., native, has been hired as the associate medical director of the 128-year-old hospice. Dr. Wilger Dr. Wilger is an emergency medicine physician and has been practicing in Fort Wayne since 1999. Dr. Wilger is a graduate of Michigan State University’s school of medicine and completed her residency in East Lansing, Mich., prior to moving to Fort Wayne. She joins Dr. Ann Moore, Chief Medical Officer, at Visiting Nurse, and will be providing medical care to hospice and palliative care patients.

Visiting Nurse, a non-profit United Way agency partner, was founded in 1888 and provides hospice and palliative care to patients facing serious illnesses in an eight-county region of northeast Indiana. Through The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, a service of Visiting Nurse, grief support, programming and counseling is also provided, at no cost, to any adult who has experienced a loss.
