Fort Wayne TinCaps (12-21, 48-55) vs. West Michigan Whitecaps (14-16, 53-44)

RHP J.C. Cosme (7-5, 3.66) vs. RHP Fernando Perez (3-5, 5.18)

Friday, July 29 — Parkview Field — First Pitch 7:05 p.m. — Game 104

LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps beat the Whitecaps, 3-1. Lefty Jerry Keel became the second Fort Wayne pitcher this year to go 7 innings as he held WM to a run. The TinCaps broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth.

NEW TINCAPS APP: The TinCaps have partnered with Reusser Design (Roanoke, IN) to launch a mobile app and game. “Go Johnny Go” is currently available for iOs devices and is the team’s first venture into the mobile app landscape. The game centers around the team’s mascot, Johnny TinCap, who is traveling around Fort Wayne to get to Parkview Field. Along the way, he’s attempting to dodge baseballs and to boost his energy with apples. Fans can download the app at TinCapsApp.com or in the Apple App Store.

JERSEY AUCTION: The TinCaps are wearing special jerseys tonight in celebration of Indiana’s Bicentennial. The State Flag jerseys are being auctioned online at TinCapsJersey.com. All proceeds raised will be donated to Fort Wayne Trails, a non-profit organization.

“DONNELLY DAY” AT PARKVIEW FIELD: U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly will be here for Tuesday’s game against Lansing. Not only will he throw out a first pitch, but he’ll also experience what it’s like to be a TinCaps gameday employee, working with the grounds crew, ushers, and concessions staff.

PADRES TRADE: Today San Diego dealt starting pitcher Andrew Cashner to the Marlins, along with former TinCaps Colin Rea ’12-13 and Tayron Guerrero ’13-14, in exchange for Miami’s top prospect, first baseman Josh Naylor, and pitchers Jarred Cosart, Carter Capps, and Luis Castillo, who was their top pitching prospect.

CHANCE TO SWEEP: The TinCaps are going for their first sweep since June 7-9, when they took 3 games at Bowling Green. Fort Wayne’s last sweep at Parkview Field was May 31-June 2 against South Bend. The last time the TinCaps won 3 in a row overall was to start the second half at Bowling Green, June 23-25.

WHO’S HOT IN THE LINEUP: SS Ruddy Giron has reached base in 18 of 20… DH Austin Allen is on a career-long 13-game hitting streak… 3B Carlos Belen is batting .271 in the second half (after he hit .194 before the break)… 1B Brad Zunica is second in the MWL in home runs (14), with 8 coming since the All-Star break… LF Tyler Selesky is 6-for-his-first-11 since being called up on Sunday.
