The All-Star Allen is back to catching and batting fifth tonight after being sidelined by illness over the weekend.

ROSTER MOVES — WHO’S COMING: Today, the Padres transferred RHP Aaron Cressley and RHP David Bednar from Short Season-A Tri-City to the TinCaps. Coincidentally, both are natives of western Pennsylvania. ROSTER MOVES — WHO’S GOING: The Padres also moved RHP Nick Monroe and LHP Nathan Foriest from Fort Wayne to Tri-City.

GIRON HEATS UP: SS Ruddy Giron hit his first home run of the season on Sunday, a two-run shot in the second inning. It was his first long ball since Aug. 6 last year. Giron has reached base in 11 consecutive games, raising his batting average 19 points and his on-base percentage 24 points over that time.

BELEN BASHES: With 2 doubles on Sunday, Carlos Belen now has 59 hits on the season — 32 (54%) have gone for extra bases. He’s the team leader in doubles (21) and triples (6).

DOUBLE THE PLEASURE: OF Jhonatan Peña knocked 2 doubles on Sunday — the first time he’s done that in a game this year. Peña did have multiple extra-base hits 2 other times in his first 70 games.

LEAGUE LEADER: 1B Brad Zunica is tied for the MWL lead in home runs with 12 — 6 of which have come over the first 21 games of the second half. He also leads Fort Wayne in RBIs with 48.

ALUMNI REPORT: 2013 TinCaps ace Zach Eflin turned in a quality start for Philadelphia on Sunday (6 IP, 3 R), but the Phillies lost to the Mets, 5-0. New York starter Jacon deGrom threw a 1-hitter. The only hit he allowed? A single to Eflin in the third inning. (Eflin never had an at-bat with Fort Wayne, but did lead the league with a 2.73 ERA.)

OVERTIME: The average time of game for the TinCaps over the last week (6 games)? 3 hours, 16 minutes.
