Fort Wayne Mad Ants Announce Adjustments To Front Office Staff

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, presented by Lutheran Health Network, welcome Vinessa Needham, Director of Communications and Community Relations, to their front office staff for the upcoming 2016-17 Mad Ants season. Needham will replace Kara Stevenson, who will be stepping down from the position to return to school in pursuit of her Master’s Degree.

A native of Crown Point, Indiana, Needham, who graduated recently from Ball State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications with a minor in Sports Studies, spent the previous summer as the Public Relations and Marketing intern with the Lowell Spinners, a minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. In her transition to the Mad Ants, Needham will manage the team’s social media, website, public relations and community relations duties. “I am sad to see Kara leave, but happy for her new adventure. I’m excited about Vinessa joining our staff. She showed leadership skills during her internship in Lowell and will do a fabulous job for us here in Fort Wayne” said Mad Ants team president Tim Bawmann.

Along with Needham’s arrival, the Mad Ants have announced additional promotions in their front office staff with Kevin Bloom (Kendallville, IN) shifting into the role of a Corporate Partnership Manager, after having spent two years as an account executive and assistant coach for the team. Allie Lane (New Haven, IN) and Sean Porter (Pendleton, IN), each beginning their second season with the organization, will now handle duties as Group and Corporate Sales Managers, in transition from their previous roles as account executives. “I’m happy for the promotions given to Kevin, Allie and Sean. They’ve earned a chance to show what they can do with more responsibility” said Bawmann. Lastly, Logan Wiening (Fort Wayne, IN) will begin as a full time employee, serving in a Corporate Sales and Creative Services position, after having spent several years as an intern for the organization. Logan is an amazing young man. He’s been dedicated to the Mad Ants since his days at Bishop Dwenger High School. Somehow he has managed to build his career all while finishing his degree, which is quite an accomplishment” stated Bawmann.

The Mad Ants celebrate their 10th anniversary season with tip-off in November. Their full schedule will be released in August. As part of its 10th anniversary, fans are encouraged to be a part of the teams’ ten year celebrations throughout the entire duration of the season.
