FWCS Offers Online Pre-registration

FWCS will offer convenient online pre-registration to current families beginning this summer, allowing current families to fill out routine registration forms online prior to in-school registration.

FWCS developed a parent portal called MyFWCS, which can be accessed from the FWCS website at www.fortwayneschools.org. Parents will receive a letter for each child enrolled in FWCS with instructions and a secure log-in code that can be used to access the portal between June 20 and July 12.

“We are pleased to introduce a way for our parents to pre-register their children online,” Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson said. “This new service will make the registration process more convenient and lessen the time they spend at in-school registration.”

Parents still need to attend in-school registration, but if they complete the pre-registration online, they will be able to go through the Rapid Registration line, making the process much faster. In-school registration will take place from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, July 29, and noon-7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1. Parents will need a photo ID and two proofs of residence.

The portal will not be available to new families at this time. All new families will go to the new Family & Community Engagement Center, 230 E. Douglas Ave., to register. Daily hours at the center will be 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesdays when the center will be open until 7 p.m. The center will also be open one Saturday each month starting with July 30. On that day, the center will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
