UNITY Performing Arts Foundation is a multifaceted performing arts organization, launched in July 2000. UNITY focuses on developing students in the areas of artistry, character and leadership. The organization provides an educational platform for students to learn and perform soulful art forms through a variety of artistic disciplines and mediums including choral music, creative writing, oratory, dance, drama, and instrumental music. The organization’s premiere youth choral group, The Voices of Unity Youth Choir learns and performs mainstream soulful genres of music, including jazz, blues, gospel, R&B, hip hop, some pop and country.
UNITY has spent countless hours preparing for this remarkable journey over the course of the past year. The organization has engaged in several fundraisers, promotional community events and task force planning meetings, as well as choir rehearsals, workshops and study sessions to learn the history and culture of the cities that they will visit this summer.
The Voices of Unity will be featured in a Send-off Concert on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Rhinehart Music Center on the campus of Indian University – Purdue University Fort Wayne at 6:00 PM.
