The TinCaps’ 2016 home opener on Saturday, April 9 is almost here, but fans can meet the team and visit Parkview Field even sooner.
The TinCaps will host the annual Parkview Field Open House on Saturday, April 2 (11 a.m.—1 p.m.). Free behind-the-scenes tours will be available to showcase the venue that’s been tabbed as Minor League Baseball’s best ballpark experience four of the last five years.
Also, kids can play for free in the Shindigz FUN ZONE, while The Orchard Team Store will be open and offering discounted prices. On top of that, the entire food and beverage menu will be available at 50 percent off regular prices.
Parkview Field’s Ticket Office will be open during the Open House, too. More season tickets have already been sold for 2016 than any previous TinCaps season, yet some 12-game, 17-game, half-season, and full-season ticket packages are still available. Balloons will be tied to highlight open seats. Limited seats remain on sale for Opening Night as well.
Perfect for families on spring break, fans can then meet the 2016 TinCaps at Meet the Team Night presented by MetroPCS on Wednesday, April 6. Fans are welcome to watch the team practice on the field that evening. Additionally, players will sign autographs and pose for pictures on the concourse following their workout. (The San Diego Padres will announce the TinCaps’ roster just prior to the team’s arrival to town on Sunday.)
The TinCaps kick off the 2016 season on Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. against the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians) in Eastlake, Ohio. Fort Wayne’s home opener is slated for Saturday, April 9 at 6:05 p.m. against the Captains at Parkview Field. Fans in attendance on Opening Night will receive a free TinCaps Magnet Schedule and be treated to a fireworks show after the game.
