Three University of Saint Francis alumni received the 2016 “Light of Learning” award from the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Emily Nichter (2002 graduate), Claudia Schnurr (1981 graduate) and Mary Yoder (1973 graduate) were recognized as educators who express the core values of Catholic education and incorporate those values into their curriculum.

In addition, Principal Jason Shiffli of Bishop Dwenger High School received the “Light of Learning” Administrator Award. Shiffli is a director on the USF Board of Trustees.
