As one of the 2015 charities to benefit from the annual
WOWO/Penny Pitch efforts, the Burn Council of Northern Indiana announces today that it is
has received over $71,000 as its share of the total funds raised.
“This gift will be transformational,” explains Vince Green, Treasurer of the Board of the Burn
Council. “This gift will all us to expand our services to Burn Survivors and their families in
Northern Indiana, Southeast Michigan, and Northwest Ohio.” In honor of this support, the
organization will create the “WOWO/Penny Pitch Burn Survivor Fund” to help purchase gas
cards, garments, and supplies for Burn Survivors and their families that are un- or underinsured.
The Burn Council also plans to initiate new efforts for the mental health and
school/Job re-entry for child and adult Burn Survivors.
“Being a part of WOWO/Penny Pitch has also helped ‘put us on the map’”, adds Green.
“Unless you have been burned, you probably have never heard of us or the life-saving efforts
of the staff at the Regional Burn Center at St. Joseph Hospital. We thank WOWO staff, the
board of Penny Pitch, Inc., and Bruce Dye at Brigadoon Fitness for their matching support of
Penny Pitch.”
