USF Health Fair Features Marrow Drive

The University of Saint Francis invites the community to the 2016 USF Health Fair on Monday, February 15 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Doermer Family Center for Health Sciences Main Hall, 2701 Spring Street.

Students enrolled in the USF Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program will present resources and instruction on homeopathic remedies, yoga related to therapy, sensory integration disorder, benefits of massage therapy, importance of sleep, proper lifting mechanics and nutrition. In addition, Dr. William Lentz, a Fort Wayne dermatologist, will be available to perform skin cancer screens.

There will also be a representative from the “Be The Match” bone marrow donor program to explain how being a bone marrow donor can save lives. During the Health Fair, the university will host a marrow donor registry drive to raise awareness about the need for more people to join the “Be The Match” Bone Marrow Registry. This drive is part of a nationwide effort to increase the pool of potential donors for patients in need.
