Mad Ants Make Roster Moves

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, presented by Lutheran Health Network, announced today that they have agreed to trade Ramon Harris to the Iowa Energy in exchange for the player rights of Larry Owens. This trade is subject to physicals.

Harris joined the Mad Ants during the 2011-12 season and during his time spent with Fort Wayne appeared in two postseasons, made two NBA D-League Championship appearances, and became a D-League Champion in 2014. Aside from his time spent with the Mad Ants, Harris has also spent time overseas with BG Goettingen (Germany) and Rayos de Hermosillo (Mexico).

Owens, whose NBA stints with the Spurs, Wizards and Nets combine with much NBA Development League success, is currently playing overseas with Kyoto Hannaryz of the Japanese BJ League. In his time spent with the Tulsa 66ers and Iowa Energy, Owens received multiple All-NBA D-League Team honors along with his appearance in the 2011 D-League All Star Game.

Mad Ants general manager Brian Levy states, "Ramon has been an integral part of the Mad Ants organization for the last 5 years. His character and leadership exemplify all that is good about the game of basketball. We hope that this opportunity will better serve Ramon, as he continues on his career. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of everyone in Fort Wayne."

The Mad Ants return home after an extended road schedule to host the Canton Charge Thursday, January 28th at 7:00 p.m. Fans can purchase Mad Ants tickets anytime, which start at just $6, at the Memorial Coliseum Box Office, by visiting www.ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
