Mad Ants Continue Strong Play At Home; Home Record To A Perfect 4-0

The Mad Ants, sponsored by Lutheran Health Network, returned to their winning ways, taking down the Bakersfield Jam 113-108 Friday, November 27th at Allen Co. War Memorial Coliseum, improving their record on the season to 4-2, 4-0 at home.

Having just one time for a matchup between the two teams, both looked for an early advantage, but the first half turned into a toss-up for who remained in control. Bakersfield took the lead into the locker room at the half way point, 53-51 after the Mad Ants began making their comeback late in the half. Rakeem Christmas led all scorers with 13 first half points. CJ Fair followed his teammate with 8 points of his own.

Though down through the first eight minutes of the third quarter, the Mad Ants found a late one point lead and would take that advantage all the way to the final buzzer. A strong second half performance by Marcus Simmons helped push the offensive attack of the Mad Ants, Simmons finished the night with 16 points and eight rebounds. The help of the Mad Ants bench was key as Walter Lemon Jr. and Ramon Harris both checked in with 14 points; Lemon would also record the game leading assist numbers for the night. Christmas stood on top, leading the Mad Ants with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

For the Jam, CJ Wilcox led all scorers with 21 points, while Earl Clark followed with a double-double good for 20 points and 14 rebounds.

The Mad Ants remain at home for a Sunday, November 29th matchup with the Erie BayHawks at 5:00 p.m. ET. Fans can purchase their Mad Ants tickets anytime, which start at just $6, at the Memorial Coliseum Box Office, by visiting www.ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
