The Rescue Mission, along with the City of Fort Wayne and representatives from other community agencies serving the poor, will host a press conference at the Allen County Public Library downtown (Meeting Room A). The press conference will serve to officially kick off National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and will address the “State of Homelessness” in Fort Wayne.
National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is sponsored by the National Coalition for the Homeless and the National Student Campaign Against Hunger & Homelessness. It is observed each year the week before Thanksgiving, and provides an opportunity to help promote the national endeavor to end hunger and homelessness.
The media is invited to attend, photo opportunities available.
Proud sponsors of this important effort include: Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Co., Sweetwater Sound, The Chapel, Parkview Health, Glenbrook Square, Old National Bank, 21Alive, and WBCL.
