Redemption House Press Release

100+ Women Who Care Fort Wayne, a nonprofit advocacy group with 170 women members, donated $26,550 to Redemption House today. Redemption House is a non profit transition home for women who seek to redeem their lives from past destructive behavior by developing a faith based lifestyle and by gaining the skills needed to liv successfully on their own.

Since it’s inception in 2013, the 100+ Women Fort Wayne group has donated over $173,000 to local non-profits. In 2014 and 2015, Parkview Hospital agreed to match each quarterly donation with $10,000 additional funds.

“Redemption House is so appreciative of the support from this strong group of women. We are excited to see the positive effect they have on our community by helping a different local nonprofit organization each quarter,” says Tomi Cardin, Executive Director.

100+ Women Who Care Fort Wayne, started locally by Wendy Moyle and a Steering Committee of 9 women, is a national concept with group representation and area chapters in almost every state. This 100+ Women Who Care group is open to all women wanting to donate $100 quarterly to local not-for-profits selected by the group at quarterly informational meetings.

“I was inspired by my mother’s group in Bloomington, Indiana. They have nearly 200 members so far and have given away hundreds of thousands to area non-profits,” said Wendy Moyle, 100+ Women Who Care Fort Wayne founder. “The meetings are 1–hour long. They are efficient, informative, and an amazing way to collectively make a significant impact locally. The response from local women has been humbling and overwhelming. It’s our goal to continually grow the group and make big changes for local non-profits.”

At each quarterly meeting, three women are selected at random to give a brief presentation on a local charity of their choice. The group then votes and the winning charity receives $100 from each member of the group. There is no overhead and all proceeds go directly to the charity. The next quarterly meeting is Wednesday, November 4th at 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Fort Wayne Country Club.
