USF Students To Present Research In Pittsburgh

Seven University of Saint Francis students are traveling to Pittsburgh, Penn. on October 16 to present their research at the Ohio Valley Unified Malacologists meeting held at the Carnegie Museum.

Nine USF undergraduate students representing several programs including biology, pre-medical chemistry, nursing, pre-pharmacy chemistry, pre-physician assistant biology and chemistry, along with one Homestead High School student, devoted 12 weeks of their summer to investigate the spatial distribution of nutrients in Whitley County’s Crooked Lake under the direction of Dr. Andrea Geyer and Mr. Warren Pryor.

Recordings of the students actively completing this research were taken by Angel Hernandez, an Emmy-nominated director, for South Bend PBS as part of a documentary on the Tippecanoe River Valley.
