Fort Wayne TinCaps (39-19, 71-55) vs. Lake County Captains (29-29, 65-61)

LHP Thomas Dorminy (10-7, 3.09) vs. LHP Sean Brady (7-10, 3.64)

Thursday, August 27, 2015 — Parkview Field — First Pitch 7:05 p.m. — Game 127

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps beat the Lansing Lugnuts, 3-2, on Wednesday night for their 16th win in a row at Parkview Field. The victory breaks the Fort Wayne franchise record for consecutive home win that was set in 2009.

FRANCHISE RECORD: The TinCaps have won 16 games in a row at Parkview Field since July 17. This is a new franchise record, surpassing the 2009 TinCaps, who won 15 consecutive home games. That year’s team went on to win the MWL title and have since produced a Class A record 20 big leaguers. Last week the TinCaps tied another ‘09 record by winning 10 consecutive games overall.

MAGIC NUMBERS: With 12 games remaining in the regular season, the TinCaps have a magic number of 3 to clinch a playoff spot and a magic number of 9 to win the Eastern Division. Fort Wayne hasn’t won a division title since 2009. See full standings below.

STAYING HOT: The TinCaps have won 9 series in a row overall and are 23-4 over their last 27 games. Over the last 15 series at Parkview Field, Fort Wayne is 13-0-2, and has won 6 straight home series.

PITCHING WINS: The TinCaps are 19-4 this month thanks in large part to a 2.22 ERA — the lowest in the MWL for August.

SURGING SANTOS: First baseman Trae Santos homered Wednesday for a second night in a row. The 22-year-old leads the TinCaps in doubles (29), home runs (13), RBIs (56), total bases (175), walks (53), and games (120). In the MWL, he ranks 3rd in 2B, T3rd HR, T8th RBIs, 6th BB, 6th SLG, 5th OPS, and T3rd G.

MORENO MASHING: For the second time this season, Edwin Moreno is on a 10-game hitting streak. Over the stretch that goes back to Aug. 13, the outfielder is 16-for-33 (.484) with a double, a triple, 2 home runs, and 4 RBIs. Moreno hit .238 from 2011-14, but has hit .318 this season.
