RHP Dinelson Lamet (5-6, 2.99) vs. RHP Sean Reid-Foley (3-4, 3.64)

Monday, August 24, 2015 — Parkview Field — First Pitch 7:05 p.m. — Game 124

ABOUT LAST GAME: The TinCaps were unable to complete a sweep at South Bend, falling 7-4. The Cubs raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first and hung on from there, even though Fort Wayne brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth.

MAGIC NUMBER: With 15 games remaining in the regular season, the TinCaps have a magic number of 8 to clinch a playoff spot.

HOME WINNING STREAK: The TinCaps have won 13 games in a row at Parkview Field since, and including, July 17. The franchise record for most consecutive home wins is 15. That mark was set in 2009 from June 6-July 15. The ‘09 TinCaps went on to win the MWL title and have since produced a Class A record 20 big leaguers.

STREAKING: The TinCaps have won 8 series in a row overall and are 20-4 over their last 24 games. Fort Wayne is 12-0-2 over its last 14 series at Parkview Field. The last time the TinCaps lost a series at home was when they were swept by Lake County from May 11-14.

POSTSEASON ALL-STAR TEAM: The MWL announced its Post Season All-Stars today, as voted on by the league’s managers. Nick Torres, who played for the TinCaps until he was promoted by the Padres to Advanced-A Lake Elsinore on July 10, is one of three outfielders on the team. At the time of his promotion, Torres was hitting .326 (tied for 2nd best in the MWL) with 2 doubles (1st), 133 total bases (3rd), 94 hits (5th), and a .462 SLG (10th). He also was Fort Wayne’s leader in RBIs (40) and OBP (.378).

PITCHING WINS: The TinCaps are 16-4 this month thanks in large part to a 2.31 ERA — the lowest in the MWL for August. Meanwhile, the club is hitting .244 this month, which ranks 12th out of 16.

HEATING UP: Both Michael Gettys and Franchy Cordero are on their longest hitting streaks of the season right now. Gettys has hit safely in 10 consecutive games, while Cordero has a hit in each of his last 7.
