As families gear up for back-to-school time, a first-of-its kind website has launched to help Hoosier families find the best K-12 school options for their children.
MySchoolOptions.org, available only to families in Indiana, empowers parents to investigate available school options based on geography and interest.
“We know parents value choice when it comes to their child’s education,” said Betsy Wiley, President of the Institute for Quality Education, which is the host of the site. “MySchoolOptions.org is an easy to use website that allows Hoosier families to explore by geographic area all educational opportunities available – including neighborhood public schools, public charter schools, private schools and virtual schools.”
“Hoosier parents deserve to choose a quality school that will meet the needs of their child, and MySchoolOptions.org affords them the opportunity to explore their options easily, and free of charge,” Wiley added.
Allen County parent Miranda Rosario, the mother of five children, is glad she explored her school options. “My children weren’t getting the education they needed and they were falling behind. Since we’ve switched schools they have excelled. We’re so happy. We’re elated,” Rosario said.
In addition to reviewing K-12 options, visitors to the site can also easily access school accountability grades and determine if they qualify for a school voucher or tax credit scholarship to help pay for private school tuition.
