Fort Wayne TinCaps (21-15, 53-51) vs. West Michigan Whitecaps (19-16, 52-52)

RHP Michael Kelly (5-3, 4.60) vs. RHP Trey Teakell (3-0, 0.90)

Sunday, August 2, 2015 — Parkview Field — First Pitch 1:05 p.m. — Game 105

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: For a second consecutive night, the TinCaps walked off in the ninth against the Whitecaps. Fort Wayne erased a 3-0 lead in coming back to win 4-3. Once again, it was outfielder Edwin Moreno at the plate for the game-winner. He singled to right field off West Michigan’s Gabe Speier to score a pinch-running Rey Bruguera. VIDEO

WINNING STREAK: The TinCaps now have won five consecutive games, matching their longest winning streak of the season. Fort Wayne also win five straight from June 18-25. Last year, the TinCaps had one five-game winning streak (May 25-30, 2014). The last time they had a streak of six consecutive wins or more was when the team won nine straight from June 2-11 in 2013.

FIRST PLACE: With Saturday night’s win, the TinCaps now lead the Whitecaps by 1.5 games for first place with 34 games remaining.

ANOTHER WALK-OFF WIN: The TinCaps now have seven walk-off wins on the season. Edwin Moreno is responsible for three of them. For more on the team’s thrilling finishes, see Page 9.

SPECIAL MOMENT: Saturday’s walk-off ending was topped afterward by a tribute to the late brother of first baseman Trae Santos, T.J. Santos, who lost his life to pancreatic cancer nearly two years ago. The 29-year-old T.J. was a 1st Lt. in the Army. Trae’s teammates joined him on the field to celebrate T.J. before fireworks.

STANDING ROOM ONLY: Saturday night’s crowd of 8,083 was Parkview Field’s 16th sellout of the year. It was the third straight crowd in excess of 8,000-plus — something never done before for baseball in Fort Wayne.

SU2C: Today is Stand Up To Cancer Day presented by Fifth Third Bank. The TinCaps are wearing special jerseys designed by Fort Wayne native Kayla Ellis. The jerseys are being auctioned off on More details on the day are at
