ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps blanked Bowling Green, 2-0. Thomas Dorminy (6 IP), Colby Blueberg (2 IP), and Yimmi Brasoban (1 IP) teamed for the shutout, while Franchy Cordero (4th — sac fly) and Trae Santos (6th — RBI single) provided the runs.

000000: Saturday was Fort Wayne’s sixth shutout win of the season, and second against Bowling Green. All six have come since May 31.

END OF THE ROAD TRIP: Today concludes a nine-day, nine-game road trip for the TinCaps. By the time the team returns to Parkview Field tonight, they’ll have traveled more than 1,174 miles to Dayton to Lake County to Bowling Green and back. Ed Walsh, Jr. of the Oakland Oaks, and a Notre Dame alum, stymied DiMaggio.

HALL OF FAME: Craig Biggio, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and John Smoltz are set to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame today. None of the four ever played in the Midwest League, although Smoltz is from Michigan and went to high school in Lansing.

ON THIS DAY IN BASEBALL HISTORY: In 1933, Joe DiMaggio had a 61-game hitting streak come to an end in the Double-A Pacific Coast League. DiMaggio was just 18-years-old at the time (same age as current TinCaps infielders Luis Urias and Ruddy Giron) and playing for the San Francisco Seals.
