Golf Tournament Breaks Records with $216,000

The fifth annual Tippmann-McArdle Women’s Care Center

Classic held Monday, May 18, at Sycamore Hills Golf Club, has raised a record breaking

$216,000 for the Women’s Care Centers of Allen County.

This year’s gross champion winners were the Hanning & Bean team, comprised of Bill Bean,

Steve Steinaker, Jim Scott, and Thad Winter. Net champions were Dave Elberson, Marc

Elberson, Charlie Stacey, and Murray Bartolome of the Terry & Bonnie Elberson team. Closestto-

the-pin winners were Katie Khorshid and Tony Kurley. Longest drive winners were Sarah

Strimmenos and Phil Bundy.

Proceeds from the tournament support the local Allen County Women’s Care Centers, which are

part of the largest pregnancy resource organization in the United States. Currently, the Women’s

Care Center serves more than 25 percent of the pregnant women in Allen County, offering free

pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, parenting classes, goal setting counseling sessions and a Crib

Club self sufficiency program where parents earn items like cribs, car seats, clothing, and diapers

for their children. The Crib Club program is supported by the Christ Child Society of Fort

Wayne.

“Because we are 100 percent privately funded, the support we are receiving through this

tournament is vital to our ability to love and serve so many families,” remarked Anne Koehl,

director of the Women’s Care Center.
