Doug Beebe Named President Of Residential Services At Benchmark Human Services

Doug Beebe was recently named President of Residential Services at Benchmark Human Services (formerly AWS), an organization that provides care to individuals with disabilities and mental illness throughout the United States. Beebe joined Benchmark in 2014 as Vice President, overseeing programs in Central and Southern Indiana and on the East Coast. In his new role Beebe will manage all residential, vocational, and day service programs throughout the organization.

“Doug’s wealth of experience brings a new dimension to the Benchmark managerial ranks, which has already proved to be invaluable in the 18 months he has been with us,” said William J. Swiss, Benchmark President/CEO.

Prior to joining Benchmark, Beebe served as chief executive officer of Community Rehabilitation Hospital in Indianapolis. Previous positions also include Director of the Bureau of Aging and In-home Services for the State of Indiana; Executive Director of Hook Rehabilitation Center-Community Hospital in East Indianapolis; State Administrator for Res-Care, based in Illinois and Indiana; and Executive Director of the Blare House in Des Plaines, Illinois.

His industry leadership positions include serving on these boards: CICOA Aging and In-Home Services, Indiana’s largest area agency on aging (chair, 2011 to 2012); Leading Age Indiana/Indiana Association of Homes and Services for the Aged (chair, 2012-2014); Indiana Hospital Association Rehabilitation Task Force (chair, 2012-current); Brain Injury Association of Indiana; Statewide Head Injury Leadership Board; and Indianapolis Mayor’s Disability Awareness Council (2007 to 2009). He is a member of numerous industry associations.

“I have watched the evolution of Benchmark for over 30 years. When I was given a chance to join the team, I jumped at it,” Beebe said. “The dynamic and innovative thinking that has been a hallmark of Swiss’ leadership has led to great diversity in our services. I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us as our field will undergo dramatic shifts over the next few years. Innovation and responsiveness will be keys to our continued success in providing supports to people in the community.”
