Community Foundation Distributes $1,059,810 In Grants This Quarter

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne distributed a total of $1,059,810 in new grant awards to nonprofit agencies serving Allen County. Recipients included:

Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne ($30,000) ­ Arts and cultural programs; Boy Scouts of America ­ Anthony Wayne Area Council ($20,000) ­ Youth leadership development;

Catholic Charities, Fort Wayne/South Bend Diocese ($20,000) ­ Services for pregnant/parenting teens and young adults focusing on education; Community Action of Northeast Indiana d/b/a Brightpoint ($29,000) ­ Covering Kids and Families of Northeast Indiana Program;
Embassy Theatre Foundation ($25,000) ­ Maintenance and operation of the historical theatre;
Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra ($25,000) ­ Arts and arts education programs;
Harold W. McMillen Center for Health Education ($30,000) ­ Health education programs;
Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Fort Wayne d/b/a Just Neighbors ($30,000) ­ Emergency housing for families in Allen County;
Lifeline Youth & Family Services ($10,000) ­ Youth and family services; Literacy Alliance ($30,000) ­ High school equivalency learning centers, literacy programs and tutoring services for Allen County adults; Mustard Seed Furniture Bank of Fort Wayne ($25,000) ­ Furniture bank and Beds4Kids program;
Northeast Indiana Public Radio ($15,000) – Music, entertainment, and public discussion for two public radio stations;
Educational Opportunity Center ($25,000) – Educational classes and services; Science Central ($30,000) ­ Science, technology, engineering, and math educational programs;
Turnstone Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities ($50,000) ­ Therapeutic, educational, wellness, and recreational programs; Women¹s Bureau ($30,000) ­ Rape awareness, prevention, and counseling program.
