YESTERDAY: The TinCaps beat the Great Lakes Loons, 5-2.

TICKET TO RIDE: Wednesday’s attendance of 7,851 was the largest of the season at Parkview Field and the fifth sell-out crowd in 2015.

RAIN: Wednesday’s game ended with two outs in the top of the eighth inning due to rain. It was called after a 90-minute delay.

HERE COMES THE SUN: Fort Wayne has won three straight games.

GETTING BETTER: The TinCaps have won four of their last five and six of eight. It’s their winningest span of the year so far.

A HARD DAY’S NIGHT: This evening is the second doubleheader in three days between Fort Wayne and Great Lakes.

EIGHT DAYS A WEEK: The TinCaps are in a stretch of playing 36 games in 35 days. The team has only had two off days this year.

HELLO, GOODBYE:
The Padres transferred reliever Wilson Santos to Extended Spring Training on Thursday. The right-hander’s spot has been replaced by lefty Jose Castillo. See more on Page 8.

I FEEL FINE: Outfielder Nick Torres was hit by a pitch on the left elbow Sunday at Lansing and was out of the lineup the last three days but is set to return tonight.

THE BALLAD OF RUDDY GIRON: Shortstop Ruddy Giron was a triple shy of the cycle Wednesday as he drove in three runs. Through his first 11 games as a TinCap, the 18-year-old is hitting .479. He’s hit safely in nine games and has multiple hits in seven games. Giron, the reigning MWL Player of the Week has two doubles, two triples, and three home runs.
