READING PROGRAM REACHES RECORD NUMBERS: The TinCaps Reading Program presented by Longe Optical has reached record numbers in 2015. After partnering with Longe Optical a year ago, enrollment in the reading program has expanded from roughly 55,000 students in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan to nearly 65,000. Today’s crowd will include about 4,000 school kids who have met their reading goals and thus are redeeming their vouchers for a free ticket, hot dog, and bottle of water. TORRES HITTING STREAK: Outfielder Nick Torres is on a season-long 12-game hitting streak going back to April 30. It’s the longest current streak in the league. Torres is the only TinCap to have started all 29 games this year. He’s hit safely in 25 of them. (The longest hitting streak in the league this year belongs to Clinton infielder Gianfranco Wawoe, who had a hit in 17 straight games from April 14-May 4. Torres’ streak is tied for the MWL’s fourth longest in 2015.)

REYES IS EXTRA-GOOD: Right fielder Franmil Reyes tripled and doubled Tuesday. It’s the second time he’s done that in his last 4 games. Reyes now has 6 extra-base hits on the season. After having only 1 extra-base hit (a double) through his first 19 games this season, Reyes has 5 extra-base hits in his last 6 contests.

LIGHTS OUT LEFTY: LHP Kyle McGrath came out of the bullpen in the seventh inning Tuesday and finished the game by tossing three scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
