FWCS Begins Online Distribution of Flyers

Beginning today, Fort Wayne Community Schools will distribute flyers to parents electronically using the online service Peachjar <http://www.peachjar.com> . FWCS has long approved flyers from community organizations for family friendly and enrichment activities to be distributed to our students. Now, in an effort to be more environmentally friendly and reduce the amount of staff time spent sorting and distributing flyers, we are moving from paper to digital flyer delivery. E-flyers will now be emailed directly to parents’ inboxes as well as posted online for easy access. Schools can also use the system for free to distribute school, district and PTA flyers, saving reams of paper and reducing copying costs. Parents can make sure they receive the electronic flyers by providing their email address to their child’s school or by creating an account at www.peachjar.com <http://www.peachjar.com> . Community organizations can submit their flyers for approval through the same website.
With nearly 31,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 51 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
