CANI (Community Action of Northeast Indiana) has received a $22,500 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation in support of the CANI Family Development program.
Family Development is a voluntary, in-home program of supportive services that helps identify family strengths, desires, and needs in order to accomplish specific goals. Family Development Social Workers meet directly with families on a regular basis to demonstrate how to use available strengths and resources to achieve desired ends.
The program serves families in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Elkhart, Grant, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley counties.
The Lincoln Financial Foundation, established in 1962, believes that strong economies begin with strong communities. Their philanthropic efforts focus on four strategic focus areas: Youth Education, Human Services, Economic/Workforce Development, and the Arts.
CANI helps communities, families, and individuals remove the causes and conditions of poverty. For more information about CANI and the services provided, visit the Web site www.canihelp.org <http://www.canihelp.org/> .
